I started the coaching experience very cautiously with a little scepticism but cannot believe the difference it has made to my life. I am challenging myself, putting myself forward for opportunities, rather than blending in the background and finally moving forwards.
Ford Consulting is based in Harden near Bingley, West Yorkshire and serves clients in the local towns of Leeds, Bradford, Keighley, Halifax and Huddersfield as well those throughout Yorkshire and the North of England. It was established in 2001 by myself, Liz Ford.
I work with both corporate and private clients assisting them to enhance their performance by fostering their innate potential, building their self-belief and inspiring them towards excellence.
I do this through:
How I Work
My approach is realistic and practical meaning I work with key issues in a way that ensures the solutions you identify can genuinely be implemented and sustained.
All of the assignments that Ford Consulting undertakes consist of four stages:
- Listen
- Develop
- Deliver
- Review
First I listen to you.
Whether you are an individual wanting career coaching or an organisation looking to implement large scale change, I will discuss your needs, challenges, apprehensions, ideas, desires and aspirations.
This gives me a clear idea of what you want to achieve, how you’d like to do it and how I can help.
Hopefully I will feel capable of delivering what you need myself, but if I think you’d be better speaking to someone else I’ll willingly refer you on to the people I think can meet your needs best.
Secondly I develop interventions specifically to meet your requirements.
Now that I know what you want, I’ll work on a bespoke programme. This might involve one or a mix of the services I offer. I’ll take into consideration work you’ve already done, and where possible work in partnership with you to align my interventions with existing programmes or planned events.
Next I deliver quality interventions in a professional manner.
Whether I’m delivering one to one coaching or a leadership development programme for a group of managers I aim to make it relevant, fun, participative and engaging. I use a variety of tools and techniques to get you thinking and above all learning.
I pride myself on being flexible enough to work with what emerges whilst still achieving what we set out to do.
Finally I review what I’ve delivered.
I look at how well it’s been received, what impact it’s had on those involved and their performance and, where required, I’ll work with you to measure bottom line impact too.
I seek and welcome feedback regarding all of my services and interventions, being ever keen to learn what I do well and where I can improve.
My Network
Sometimes it’s wise to collaborate on big projects and sometimes it’s best to refer clients with needs outside of my specialist areas to others. For just such occasions I have developed a robust network.
My network includes experienced managers and leaders from a variety of public and private sector backgrounds. They have been chosen because of their high levels of expertise, their flexible and creative ways of working and their enthusiasm for developing others. They are also great fun to work with!
They are qualified coaches and members of the Association for Coaching and or the European Coaching and Mentoring Council. They undertake regular supervision and keep themselves up to date with a variety of continuing professional development initiatives.
